Intakes in Cyprus at a glance

Quick read

  • Cyprus has two main intakes: September (Fall) and January–February (Spring). Some private universities also run a summer start.
  • Private universities, where most Indian students study, admit on a rolling basis, so the January–February 2027 intake is still open at many of them.
  • The public University of Cyprus takes international undergraduate applications in April each year for September.
  • The university submits your entry permit application; it usually takes about four weeks, plus time for the residence permit after arrival.
  • Allow two to three months between your offer and the start date.

Cyprus follows a European semester system, with the Fall semester starting in September and the Spring semester in late January or February. Private universities such as the University of Nicosia, European University Cyprus, Frederick University, UCLan Cyprus, Neapolis and the University of Limassol admit students for both semesters, and most review applications as they arrive.

The public universities, the University of Cyprus and the Cyprus University of Technology, have fixed application periods and fewer English-taught bachelor's programmes. Check the language of instruction before you apply.
