About the university

European University Cyprus (EUC) began in 1961 as Cyprus College, one of the island's oldest private colleges, and became a licensed university in 2007. It is now one of the largest universities in Cyprus, with more than 14,000 students, around 63% of them from outside Cyprus, and it belongs to an international private education group. It also runs a campus in Frankfurt, Germany.

EUC is best known for health sciences. It has a School of Medicine with a six-year English-taught MD, a School of Dentistry and a School of Veterinary Medicine, plus pharmacy, physiotherapy, biomedical science and other health degrees. Outside health, it teaches computer science, engineering, business, law, psychology and design, most of them in English.

In the THE World University Rankings 2027 EUC sits in the 701–800 band, and it is 94th in the world for international outlook. QS has given it a five-star rating. In 2026, 16 EUC researchers appeared on the Stanford–Elsevier list of the world's top 2% most-cited scientists.

The main campus is in Engomi, Nicosia, near the University of Nicosia. For Indian students, EUC offers English-taught bachelor's degrees from about €9,240 a year and medicine or dentistry from €23,000 a year, with two intakes. Check the language of each programme, because some (such as Nursing) are taught only in Greek and others in both languages.
