About the university

Fanshawe College was founded in 1967 in London, Ontario, as one of the province's colleges of applied arts and technology. It is one of Ontario's largest colleges, offering practical, career-focused certificates, diplomas, graduate certificates and a small number of degrees.

Fanshawe is known for one-year and two-year Ontario College Graduate Certificates in data analytics, artificial intelligence, supply chain and health care management, and for co-op advanced diplomas in computer programming and cyber security. Courses are taught in small classes with labs and work placements rather than large lectures.

Many Indian graduates choose Fanshawe for its January and May intakes and lower fees than most universities. Since 2024, federal study permit caps and new Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) rules for college programmes have changed the picture: Fanshawe suspended more than 40 programmes in 2025, so check that your programme is open and PGWP-eligible before you apply.

London is a mid-sized city about two hours from Toronto by road, with lower rents than the Greater Toronto Area and an established Indian community.
