About the university
The University of Stirling was founded by Royal Charter in 1967, with economist Lord Robbins as its first Chancellor. It now has more than 17,500 students from over 140 countries and more than 120,000 alumni.
Stirling teaches a wide range of business, computing and data courses and is recognised for sport and aquaculture research. It was named Scottish University of the Year and UK Sport University of the Year in the Daily Mail University Guide 2027.
For Indian students the biggest draw is a simple fee and scholarship structure: most taught master's on this page cost £24,300 for 2027/28, and students living in India get a £7,000 Postgraduate India Scholarship automatically. Many master's start in January as well as September, and the university accepts 50% to 55% in a bachelor's degree.
Stirling is a city in central Scotland. The university's teaching buildings, residences, Campus Central and sports facilities share one main campus.
