About the university

The University of Hull was founded in 1927 as University College Hull, with a gift from local businessman Thomas Ferens. It is a public university with its main campus in Hull.

Hull is known for business, engineering, computing and health courses. Its £4.5 million Centre of Excellence for Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Modelling (DAIM) hosts the AI and data science master's.

For Indian students the main draw is cost. Most master's courses on this page cost £19,355 or £19,725 a year for September 2027, and Indian nationals get an automatic £5,000 fee waiver on full-time postgraduate taught courses. Undergraduate students from India can also get an automatic £2,000-a-year fee waiver.

Hull is a port city on the Humber estuary in East Yorkshire. The university says it is one of the UK's most affordable student cities, and campus rooms start at £99 a week.
