About the university

The University of Hertfordshire grew out of Hatfield Technical College, which opened in 1952 to train engineers for the local aircraft industry, and became a university in 1992. It still describes itself as a business-facing university with strong industry links.

Its two campuses, College Lane and de Havilland, are in Hatfield, a town about 20 miles north of London. Popular subjects with Indian students include computer science, data science, cyber security, business, engineering and health.

Hertfordshire has one of the highest shares of international students of any UK university, and many master's courses offer both September and January starts. Some computing master's courses also have 'advanced research' or 'extended professional practice' versions that add an extra semester.

Course fees for 2027 entry could not be confirmed for this page; check each course on the university's website, or ask our counsellor for the latest figures.
