About the university

The University of East Anglia (UEA) was founded in 1963 and now has more than 17,000 students. It is built around a single campus on the edge of Norwich, so teaching buildings, halls, the library and the sports park are a few minutes' walk apart.

UEA is known for its interdisciplinary approach and strong research in environmental science, health and plant science, helped by the Norwich Research Park and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital next to campus. Its creative writing programme is famous, and computing, business and pharmacy are popular with international students.

For Indian students the main attraction is generous automatic scholarships. Indian postgraduates receive £8,000 or £9,000 off the fee depending on their degree class, and undergraduates receive £5,000 to £10,000 a year. Standard 12 English at 70% from boards such as CBSE and ISC can also be accepted in place of IELTS.

Norwich is a historic cathedral city in the east of England and England's first UNESCO City of Literature.
