About the university
London Metropolitan University (London Met) was created in 2002 by the merger of London Guildhall University and the University of North London, the first merger of two UK universities. Its roots go back to evening classes set up in the City of London in 1848.
Teaching takes place on two campuses: Holloway in north London and Aldgate on the edge of the City. The university focuses on practical, career-related courses in business, computing, law, social sciences and the creative industries.
For Indian students, London Met offers a London location at fees of about £20,000 to £20,500 a year for most master's courses, with September and January starts. In 2026/27 the university applied an automatic £5,000 South Asia scholarship to eligible Indian students, and it accepts Standard XII English at 65% in place of IELTS.
London is the UK's biggest job market, but it is also the most expensive city to live in. London Met does not own halls, so students book private halls or shared flats.
