About the university
Aston University grew out of the Birmingham Municipal Technical School, set up by the city in 1895, and has been a university for 60 years. Its mission is to be the UK's leading university for students who want careers in business and the professions.
Aston is best known for Aston Business School, which holds triple accreditation from AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS, and for career-focused courses in engineering, computing, pharmacy and health. Placements are built into many degrees, and its graduates are among the better paid in the UK according to government salary data.
Indian students look at Aston for one-year master's courses with three start dates (January, April and September), a clear Indian entry guide that accepts a 50% bachelor's for most master's, and a Class 12 English route that can replace IELTS. An automatic £5,500 discount applies to September 2027 master's starters who pay their deposit on time.
The campus is in the centre of Birmingham, the UK's second-largest city, a short walk from New Street station. Birmingham is one of the UK's most diverse cities, with a large South Asian community and fast train links to London.
