About the university

The University of Vigo is a public university in Galicia, in north-west Spain, founded in 1990. It has about 17,400 students on three campuses: Vigo, Ourense and Pontevedra. It describes itself as a Galician, international-looking university.

Its master's catalogue is strong in engineering and technology, with programmes in artificial intelligence, computer vision, the Internet of Things, cyber security, telecommunications, automotive engineering, additive manufacturing and autonomous vehicles. It also runs marine science master's such as oceanography, marine biology and aquaculture, and business master's in finance and international trade.

For Indian students the attraction is very low public tuition. Even with the 25% surcharge for non-EU students, a 60-credit engineering master's costs about €1,045 at 2025–26 prices. The Master's in Artificial Intelligence in Ourense is taught entirely in English; check the teaching language of other programmes before applying.

Vigo is the main campus city. Ourense hosts computing and AI, and Pontevedra hosts some management and project programmes.
