About the university
Universitat Ramon Llull (URL) is a private, not-for-profit university in Barcelona, created in 1990 and approved by the Parliament of Catalonia in 1991. It is a federation: each member school keeps its own identity, campus and admissions. Its founding members were IQS (1905), Blanquerna (1948) and La Salle (traced to 1903), and Esade later joined.
Its best-known schools are Esade (business and law), La Salle (engineering, technology and architecture), IQS (chemistry, engineering and management) and Blanquerna (communication, health, psychology and education). Around 29% of its 22,000 students are international.
Indian students mostly come to URL through Esade's one-year Master of Science programmes in business analytics, finance, marketing and international management, or through La Salle's English-taught MSc programmes in artificial intelligence and telecommunications and IQS's master's in chemical engineering, bioengineering and international marketing. Fees are private-university fees: Esade's MSc programmes cost €39,000 for 2027-28.
Barcelona is a large, international city with a strong business and tech scene. Each school has its own campus; Esade's MSc programmes, for example, are taught at its Sant Cugat campus outside the city centre.

Admission requirements
Undergraduate
- Each URL school runs its own bachelor's admissions; check the school's page for the documents and tests it asks of students with Indian Class 12 results.
Postgraduate
- A degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree. For degrees from outside the European Higher Education Area (such as Indian degrees), homologation is not needed, but the university checks that the level is equivalent.
- Apply directly to the school that runs the master's: Esade, La Salle, IQS or Blanquerna each has its own admissions process and deadlines.
- Esade MSc applications carry a €150 application fee; payments go through Flywire.

Is Esade part of Ramon Llull University?
Yes. Esade is one of URL's member institutions, alongside IQS, La Salle and Blanquerna. Each school runs its own programmes and admissions.
How much does a master's at URL cost?
It depends on the school. Esade's one-year MSc programmes cost €39,000 for 2027-28, and its Global Master's cost €43,200. La Salle, IQS and Blanquerna set their own fees, so check their programme pages.
Are there scholarships for Indian students?
