About the university

EU Business School is a private business school founded in 1973. It teaches only in English and runs campuses in Barcelona, Geneva and Munich, plus an online campus, with students allowed to move between them. It is now part of OMNES Education, a French private higher-education group.

It is important to understand what kind of qualification you get. EU is not a Spanish university, so its Barcelona programmes are not official Spanish university degrees. Master's students receive a lifelong-learning master's (a 'título propio', a university's own qualification rather than an official degree) awarded by the Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya, together with a private EU Business School degree accredited in Switzerland. Some programmes offer an extra UK degree: the BA (Hons) in Business Management in Barcelona is awarded by the University of Derby, and a top-up module can lead to a London Metropolitan University master's.

Teaching is practical and small-group, with case studies, company visits, consulting projects and guest speakers, and intakes several times a year make it flexible. Entry requirements are lighter than at IE or Esade (IELTS 6.0–6.5, and a GPA of 3.0, a GMAT/GRE score or an interview for master's), and total costs are lower too.

For Indian students EU Barcelona can suit someone who wants an English-taught business course in a big European city with flexible start dates. The trade-off is recognition: before you apply, ask how a título propio and a private degree will be viewed by employers and by Indian bodies you may deal with later, and check how it affects Spanish post-study residence options.

Accommodation and living costs

EU Business School has no halls of its own; students rent rooms or private residences in Barcelona, and the campus team shares housing contacts. Barcelona rents are high. The figures below are our estimates based on market data.

  • More than 10,000 m² of space across three buildings, with about 2,400 students.
  • Students come from more than 130 countries; all teaching is in English.
  • Students can transfer to the Geneva or Munich campuses for part of their studies.
  • Clubs, pitch competitions and company visits are part of student life.
  • Students in higher education in Spain can work up to 30 hours a week alongside their studies.

Careers and graduate outcomes

EU Business School offers a career support team, but it does not publish graduate-outcome figures that we could verify. Because its Barcelona programmes are not official Spanish university degrees, check with a Spanish immigration adviser how a título propio affects post-study residence before relying on it.

FAQs

Is EU Business School a recognised university in Spain?

It is a private business school, not a Spanish university. Its master's lead to a título propio (a university-issued, non-official qualification) from the University of Vic and a private EU degree accredited in Switzerland; some programmes offer UK degrees from partner universities. Check what you need the degree for before applying.

How much does EU Business School Barcelona cost?

For 2026–27, most master's cost €5,450 per term (€16,350 for the year), the MSc €17,400, the MBA €22,800 and bachelor's €7,350 per semester. There is a €200 application fee and a €630 fee on completion for many programmes.

What IELTS score do I need?

IELTS 6.0 for most bachelor's and 6.5 for master's and the MBA. TOEFL and PTE are also accepted.

Do I need the GMAT for a master's?

Not necessarily. You need a GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0, a satisfactory GMAT or GRE score, or a successful interview with the academic dean.

When can I start?

Master's in Barcelona start in October, January and March. Bachelor's programmes also have several start dates each year.
