About the university

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) was founded in 1956, when the Dutch government wanted a second technical university to support the fast-growing electronics industry around Philips in Eindhoven. It remains closely tied to industry and research in the region.

TU/e is known for electrical engineering, computer science, data science, mechanical and automotive engineering, applied physics, chemical engineering and industrial design. Its research focuses on high-tech systems, semiconductors, energy, health and artificial intelligence, and students often work on projects with companies and in student teams building solar cars and robots.

The compact, green campus lies in the centre of Eindhoven, next to the main railway station. Eindhoven is the Netherlands' fifth-largest city and the heart of the Brainport region, home to ASML, Philips, NXP, DAF and hundreds of high-tech suppliers. Living costs are lower than in Amsterdam or Utrecht.

For Indian students, TU/e offers two-year English-taught master's in computing, electronics, embedded systems and data science, with strong links to employers in the Brainport region. All master's are taught in English, and many bachelor's are too.
