About the university

European Humanities University (EHU) began in Minsk in 1992. After the Belarusian authorities revoked its licence in 2004, it moved to Vilnius, reopened there in 2005 and received Lithuanian university status in 2006. Since 2018 its main campus has been a restored former Augustinian monastery in Vilnius Old Town.

EHU was founded to serve students from Belarus and Eastern Europe, and most classes are still taught in Belarusian or Russian. Some bachelor's programmes, such as Informatics, Visual Design and Game Creation, start in Russian and move gradually to English, or run a separate English group; the MBA and the LL.M. in International Business and Trade Law are taught in English.

For Indian students EHU is a niche choice. Fees are low (from €1,850 a semester for Informatics) and 100% tuition waivers are offered through a portfolio competition, but you should be comfortable with a Russian-speaking environment, especially in the first semesters of a bachelor's degree.

EHU has two campuses in Vilnius, and its main building is in the Old Town.

    • English at B2 or higher (TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, an English-medium degree or EHU's internal exam).
