About the university

RISEBA University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1992, shortly after Latvia regained independence, as a private school of business, arts and technology. It has grown into one of the best-known private universities in Riga, with programmes in business management, communication, psychology, architecture and media arts.

RISEBA describes itself as a practical, industry-facing university. Its business programmes are built around international business and management, while its architecture and audiovisual arts programmes are taught in its own creative centre in Riga. Several master's programmes run as full-time evening classes, which suits students who want to work alongside their studies.

For Indian students, RISEBA offers a manageable set of English-taught degrees at mid-range fees for Latvia: €6,000 a year for the four-year European Business Studies bachelor's and €6,200 a year for master's degrees such as International Business and Big Data Analytics. Architecture is more expensive at €8,000–€8,400 a year and needs a portfolio and entrance exams.

RISEBA is not ranked in the major global rankings, so judge it by programme content, teaching mode and cost. Because Latvia's immigration rules tightened in September 2026, and some RISEBA programmes run as evening or distance study, check with admissions that your chosen mode qualifies for a student residence permit.
