About the university

Dorset College Dublin is a small, independent college established in 1983. Its main campus is in Georgian buildings on Belvedere Place, by Mountjoy Square on Dublin's north side, and it has four buildings within walking distance of each other. Its degrees are QQI awards, and it also runs an English language school and professional courses.

For international students Dorset offers a short list of full-time degrees in business and computing: a three-year Bachelor of Business (Level 7), a three-year BSc in Computing (Level 7), and a one-year Bachelor of Business (Honours) in International Business (Level 8) for students who already hold a Level 7 business qualification. Classes are small and taught face to face.

For Indian students the main draw is cost. The non-EU fees on the course pages are €7,250 to €7,950, among the lowest for a degree in Dublin, and there are January and September starts. Dorset does not offer master's degrees, so most Indian graduates would look elsewhere for postgraduate study; the one-year honours top-up suits students with a three-year business diploma or Level 7 degree.

Dublin is expensive. Dorset's own living-costs guide puts a shared-room budget at about €1,220 to €1,840 a month, and it suggests looking for private rooms once you are in the city.
