About the university

Mittweida University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Mittweida, HSMW) is a public university of applied sciences with five faculties covering computer science and biosciences, engineering, media, social sciences and industrial engineering. Around 1,500 students graduate each year.

Most programmes are taught in German, but HSMW offers a fully English-taught bachelor's in Applied Mathematics and an English-taught MSc in Applied Mathematics for Network and Data Sciences, which covers machine learning, cryptography and data analysis. Its MSc Industrial Management with the specialisation Innovation and Business Expansion is also taught 100% in English, with the first semester at a partner university.

HSMW's semester contribution is very low at €107, and there is no tuition fee for these programmes. Applications go directly to HSMW's online portal rather than through uni-assist.

HSMW also runs a Studienkolleg-style preparatory route (DSH and FSP courses) for international students whose school certificate does not give direct entry to a German degree.
