About the university
Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) is a public university in Halle (Saale). It traces its history back to 1502 and describes itself as a German university open to the world.
Most MLU degrees are taught in German, but its Faculty of Law, Economics and Business offers a fully English-taught bachelor's in Business Economics and an English-taught master's in Economics: Data Science and Policy. The bachelor's is unusual in Germany: the first two years are entirely in English, with German classes built in.
For Indian students, MLU's main attractions are no tuition fees and low living costs: the economics faculty estimates about €750 a month, with rooms typically costing €150–300.
Both economics programmes have restricted admission and apply through uni-assist for foreign qualifications, so apply early and check the deadlines carefully.
