About the university

Frankfurt School of Finance & Management is a private business school in Frankfurt, founded in 1957 as an academy for the banking industry. It is one of the few business schools worldwide with triple-crown accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA), and it focuses on finance, management, data and technology.

It is known above all for finance. Its Master in Finance was ranked 3rd in Germany and 41st in the world in 2026, and its Master in Management 6th in Germany and 46th in the world. Graduates mostly work in banking, consulting and FinTech, and almost all master's graduates stay in Germany.

Indian students look at Frankfurt School for a direct route into Frankfurt's banking and finance sector, which includes the European Central Bank and Germany's largest banks. It is expensive by German standards: most two-year master's cost €35,500 in total and the Master of Finance €44,000. You also need a GMAT, GRE or the school's own admission test.

Frankfurt is Germany's financial centre, with a large international population and one of Europe's biggest airports. Rents are among the highest in Germany, so plan housing early.

Admission requirements

Undergraduate

  • You apply with your two most recent upper secondary school reports (Class 11 and 12) and then take the Online Assessment Centre: reasoning tests, an English test and a structured interview.
  • Frankfurt School does not list Indian Class 12 boards; it refers non-standard school qualifications to the DAAD admission database, so check whether your Class 12 gives direct entry in Germany.
  • Applications close on 30 June 2027 for September 2027, with rolling admissions after that if places remain.

Postgraduate

  • Master's programmes need a bachelor's degree of at least 180 ECTS, so a three-year Indian degree can qualify.
  • A valid GMAT or GRE score is required, or you can take the Frankfurt School Admission Test (BT Methods) once instead. This cannot be waived.
  • Shortlisted applicants have an admissions interview. The master's deadline for August 2027 is 30 June 2027.
  • The Full-time MBA needs at least three years of post-graduate work experience. GMAT, GRE or EA is preferred, not mandatory. Applicants from India are advised to apply by the end of April because of visa times.

Documents

  • Valid passport
  • Bachelor's certificate and transcripts (master's)
  • Class 11 and 12 reports (bachelor's)
  • GMAT, GRE or Frankfurt School Admission Test result (master's)
