About the university
Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT, in German Technische Hochschule Deggendorf) is a public university of applied sciences in Lower Bavaria, founded in 1994. It has more than 9,400 students, and almost half of them come from outside Germany.
DIT teaches engineering, computer science, business, health sciences and tourism, with 12 bachelor's and 15 master's programmes in English. Its European Campus Rottal-Inn in Pfarrkirchen teaches all courses in English, and Campus Cham focuses on AI, robotics and mechatronics.
For Indian students the attraction is low cost: there is no tuition fee, and non-EU students pay a €500 service fee per semester plus a small student union fee. Many courses have an admission test and only about 20 places, so competition is real. Indian applicants need an APS certificate, and master's applicants also need the Digital Master Test (dMAT) from summer semester 2027.
Deggendorf is a small town on the Danube in eastern Bavaria. Living costs are lower than in Munich: DIT estimates about €948 a month for non-EU students, with rooms from about €350 a month.

Postgraduate
- A relevant bachelor's degree; for example MSc Applied Computer Science asks for an engineering or IT bachelor's, and MSc Artificial Intelligence and Data Science asks for at least 18 ECTS in AI or data science courses.
- Many master's programmes have an aptitude or admission test and about 20 places.
- Indian master's applicants need an APS certificate and, from summer semester 2027, proof of the Digital Master Test (dMAT).
