About the university
The University of Wollongong in Dubai opened in 1993, making it one of the oldest international universities in the UAE. It is part of the global network of the University of Wollongong, a public university in New South Wales, Australia, ranked 195th in the QS World University Rankings 2027. UOWD's degrees are licensed and accredited in the UAE.
UOWD teaches bachelor's and master's degrees in business, finance and accounting, computer science, engineering, communication and media, psychology, education and nursing leadership. The university follows a trimester calendar, so students can start in autumn, winter (January) or spring, and full-time students can sometimes finish faster by studying in all three trimesters.
Fees are lower than at many UK branch campuses in Dubai. Most bachelor's degrees cost AED 63,449 a year (Engineering Honours AED 68,909), and master's degrees are priced per subject at about AED 9,400–9,600, so a typical 10–12-subject master's costs AED 94,000–115,000 in total.
The campus is in Dubai Knowledge Park beside Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City. UOWD works with partner residences across Dubai, from shared rooms at about AED 2,200 a month to studios at about AED 7,500.
