About the university
The University of Saskatchewan (USask) was founded in 1907 and is a public research university in Saskatoon. It has more than 3,300 international students.
USask is known for agriculture, veterinary medicine, health sciences, engineering and its research facilities, including the Canadian Light Source synchrotron. The Edwards School of Business is AACSB-accredited.
Indian students look at USask for computer science (with a 12- or 16-month professional internship option), engineering, and graduate degrees such as the Master of Engineering, which has three start dates a year. Engineering tuition is high (about CAD 59,400 in first year), so compare carefully.
Saskatoon is a mid-sized prairie city with lower rents than Toronto or Vancouver and very cold winters.
