About the university

The Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) is a French-language university in the Saint-Boniface district of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Its origins go back to 1818, it helped found the University of Manitoba in 1877 and became a full university in 2011. About 1,785 students take its bachelor's degrees, two- and three-year college diplomas and continuing education courses, all taught in French.

For Indian students with strong French, USB is affordable: study-permit tuition ranges from about CAD 13,160 to 17,555 a year depending on the programme (2026-2027 estimates). You must prove French at B2 level, even if you come from a French-speaking country. Most bachelor's students on a study permit begin with a preparatory year, Université 1, while college diplomas start directly in first year.
