About the university

Queen's University was founded in 1841 by Royal Charter and is one of Canada's oldest degree-granting universities. It is a mid-sized research university known for its Smith School of Business, Smith Engineering, health sciences and a strong residential campus life. Its 2027 International Viewbook says 95% of graduates are employed six months after graduation.

India is the second-largest source of international undergraduates at Queen's, after China. Indian students mostly choose Computing, Smith Engineering, Smith Commerce and Health Sciences at undergraduate level, and Smith's one-year business master's degrees in analytics, artificial intelligence, finance and international business.

International tuition in 2026-27 ranges from about CAD 44,800 a year in Arts and Science to about CAD 60,800 in first-year Commerce. Queen's gives automatic, renewable international admission awards in Arts and Science, Commerce, Engineering and Health Sciences worth up to CAD 25,000 a year.

Kingston is a historic lakeside city between Toronto and Montreal. The campus is known for its limestone buildings, and Queen's guarantees a residence place to all first-year international students who apply by the deadline.
