About the university

Lakeland College is a public college founded in 1913, with campuses in Vermilion, Alberta, and Lloydminster, a small city on the Alberta–Saskatchewan border. It is known for hands-on agricultural and environmental sciences, alongside business, human services, interior design and energy programmes. It serves more than 6,000 students a year and has international students from more than 20 countries.

Indian students mostly look at Lakeland's business administration diplomas in Lloydminster and its agriculture and environmental sciences programmes in Vermilion, most of which Lakeland lists as PGWP eligible. Base international tuition for 2026-27 is CAD 16,100 a year. Both campuses are in rural western Canada, far from big cities, with cold winters. Lakeland staff speak Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.
