About the university
John Abbott College is a public English-language CEGEP founded in 1971, on a lakeside campus in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue at the western tip of the island of Montreal. It teaches two-year pre-university DECs that lead to Quebec universities and three-year career programmes, and it awards diplomas rather than degrees.
Its international page covers pre-university programmes only: Arts, Literature and Communication, Liberal Arts, Science, Social Science and Visual Arts. International tuition is CAD 6,796 per semester. Teaching is in English, but every student takes five French courses, and English CEGEPs in Quebec now have an enrolment cap. Indian students should see John Abbott mainly as a route into a Quebec university, not as a degree in itself.
