About the university
The ITHQ (Institut de tourisme et d'hôtellerie du Québec) is a public hospitality school in downtown Montreal, founded by the Government of Québec in 1968. It teaches tourism, hotel management and restaurant services at vocational, college (DEC) and university level, and runs its own hotel and restaurants for practical training. Since Bill 150 it can award university degrees in its own name.
Most ITHQ programmes are taught in French. The main option for Indian students who do not study in French is the Applied Bachelor in Hospitality and Hotel Management, a three-year bilingual degree with two five-month internships, one abroad. You still need B2-level French as well as English for it. The DEC programmes in hotel management, tourism and restaurant management are taught in French.
