About the university
Georgian College was founded in 1967 and is a public college in Central Ontario, with its main campus in Barrie, about an hour north of Toronto. It has around 8,800 full-time students, 17 academic schools and more than 130 career-focused programmes.
Georgian is known for its co-op programmes (it reports more than 6,000 co-op employer partners in the last five years), its automotive business degree, and one-year graduate certificates in AI, big data analytics, health informatics and IT project management.
For Indian graduates, Georgian offers graduate certificate bundles: two related one-year certificates taken back to back, such as Big Data Analytics followed by Project Management – Information Technology. Georgian says applying for both together can lead to a two-year study permit. Check PGWP eligibility for each programme before you apply.
Barrie is a lakeside city on Lake Simcoe with lower rents than Toronto. Georgian estimates living costs of about CAD 1,280–2,350 a month for an international student.
