About the university

Douglas College was founded in 1970 and describes itself as the largest college in British Columbia. It is a public college in Metro Vancouver, with its main campus in New Westminster and a second campus in Coquitlam. It has more than 25,000 students, about 2,500 of them international from more than 100 countries.

The college offers certificates, diplomas, associate degrees, bachelor's degrees and a large group of post-degree diplomas for students who already hold a degree. Business, accounting, data analytics, computer and information systems, digital marketing and health information management are among the programmes it highlights for international students.

Indian graduates mainly come for one-year post-degree diplomas and two-year post-baccalaureate diplomas. Douglas charges one tuition rate for all programmes, CA$19,875 for 30 credits, which is low for the Vancouver area. Most programmes start in September, January or May.

New Westminster is part of Metro Vancouver, so students can look for part-time work across the region. Rent in the region is high, so budget carefully.
