About the university

Collège Montmorency is a public CEGEP in Laval, just north of Montreal, and the only college established in Laval. It was founded in 1969, took its first students in 1973 and moved to its campus on boulevard de l'Avenir in 1976. It has more than 10,000 students in 26 DEC programmes, from computer science, accounting and civil engineering technology to nursing and physiotherapy. All teaching is in French.

International students apply through SRAM, which lists the programmes open to them each session. The college says international tuition is set by Quebec's ministry and ranges from about CAD 7,000 to 10,849 per session depending on the programme; the Fédération des cégeps lists 2026-27 rates of CAD 7,575, 9,805 or 11,740 per session. Technical DECs take three years (six sessions).

      Admission requirements

      Undergraduate

      • Apply online through SRAM. SRAM compares your Class 12 with Quebec's requirements, checks the programme's conditions and sends your file to the college.
      • Deadlines through SRAM: 14 March for autumn programmes and 31 May for winter programmes.
      • If admitted, your acceptance letter gives the programme length, fees and deadlines. You then need a Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ), a study permit and, if the programme has placements, a work permit for the placement.

      Postgraduate

      • Collège Montmorency does not offer postgraduate programmes.

      Documents

      • Valid passport
      • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets, as required by SRAM
      • French test result if SRAM asks for one (B2 level)
      • Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) and study permit

      Accommodation and living costs

The Résidences étudiantes Montmorency are on the college grounds at 1600 boulevard du Souvenir, Laval, and are run by a private company (le1600.com), which sets rents and deposits. The college's student affairs office also helps students find rooms and apartments and warns about rental fraud. The college does not publish residence rents on its own pages.
