About the university

Collège Boréal is a public French-language college founded in Sudbury, Ontario, in 1995. It runs 31 campuses in 26 Ontario communities and offers more than 70 programmes, from one-year certificates to three- and four-year bachelor's degrees in computer science, business administration and nursing. All postsecondary programmes are taught in French, so it suits Indian students who already have strong French; distance learning is not open to international students.

Boréal estimates an international student's first year at about CAD 25,500: CAD 15,000 in tuition (including health insurance), CAD 8,500 for housing and CAD 2,000 for books and other costs. As a francophone college outside Quebec, it also points international students to a federal pilot programme for students in francophone minority communities that may lead to permanent residence.
