About the university
Capilano University (CapU) is a public university in North Vancouver, British Columbia, with a second campus in Squamish. It offers more than 100 programmes, from diplomas and associate degrees to bachelor's degrees and post-baccalaureate diplomas. In 2023–24 it had 9,958 students in for-credit programmes from 92 countries, with an average class of 24.
Business and tourism are its best-known areas for international students. For Indian graduates, the main options are the post-baccalaureate diplomas in North American Business Management and Global Hospitality and Tourism Management. School leavers can choose the BBA, the Bachelor of Tourism Management or two-year tourism and outdoor recreation diplomas.
Capilano says its campus is about 20 minutes by car from downtown Vancouver. Students can look for part-time work across the region, but rent in Metro Vancouver is high. Work-permit rules are set by IRCC; see our Canada guide.
