About the university

Algonquin College is a public Ontario college with its main campus in Ottawa, Canada's capital, and a smaller campus in Pembroke. It offers certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, one-year graduate certificates and honours bachelor's degrees, with a strong focus on technology, business, health, media and trades.

Algonquin's School of Advanced Technology runs many of the programmes Indian students apply for, including graduate certificates in Cyber Security Analysis, Artificial Intelligence Software Development, Cloud Development and Operations and Business Intelligence Systems Infrastructure, and degrees such as the Bachelor of Applied Computing.

Indian students look at Algonquin for Ottawa's government and technology job market, the choice of Winter and Spring intakes in many programmes, and a published list of PGWP-eligible programmes. International students pay Ontario's domestic tuition plus an International Student Premium, and Algonquin's own estimate for one year of tuition and books is about CAD 17,225–23,000.

Ottawa is a bilingual, mid-sized capital with lower rents than Toronto or Vancouver and very cold winters.
