About the university
The University of Wollongong (UOW) is a public university on the New South Wales coast, south of Sydney. It has eight campuses in New South Wales and campuses overseas, including UOW in Dubai and UOW India at GIFT City. It is ranked 195th in the world by QS and joint 247th by Times Higher Education in 2027.
UOW is known for engineering, computer science, business and health. Its engineering faculty covers a wide range of fields, from civil and mechanical to mining and telecommunications, and its business school runs many master's degrees in trimesters, which gives three start dates a year.
Indian students look at UOW for its mix of reputation and cost. Most master's degrees cost between about A$43,000 and A$51,000 a year, and strong applicants are considered automatically for a 30% scholarship. Wollongong is a regional city, and living costs are usually lower than in central Sydney.
The main campus sits between the mountains and the beach in Wollongong. Some courses, such as business analytics and project management, can also be taken at the Sydney campus.
