About the university
Macquarie University was founded in 1964. It has more than 44,000 students from over 100 countries on its Wallumattagal campus in Macquarie Park, in Sydney's north-west, set on 126 hectares of parkland.
THE describes the campus as being in the heart of Australia's largest high-tech precinct. Macquarie is ranked =126 in the world by QS and =161 by THE in 2027, and THE's 2026 subject tables place its psychology 89th in the world.
Indian students mainly look at its master's degrees in IT, cyber security, data science, business analytics and accounting. The two-year Master of Information Technology, for example, offers specialisations in applied AI, cyber security and information systems accredited by the Australian Computer Society, and asks for IELTS 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each band.
Macquarie's course pages show domestic fees only, so ask the university or an authorised representative for the international fee for your course. International students pay a commencement fee of A$16,000 to A$23,500 with their acceptance, which counts towards the first session's tuition.
